BOSSE — Open School Education Board

 BOSSE, a well-known Open School Board in Sikkim, was established to meet the academic needs of a distinct group of students. The main goal of this board is to make Open School Education available to a broader segment of the population, particularly disadvantaged groups such as SC/ST, persons living in rural and remote areas, female population, working people, and so on, regardless of their educational background. The board uses an open and distance mode to teach in a learner-centric approach. Learners at BOSSE study at their own pace from self-instructional material that has been carefully tailored for them. This board is extremely beneficial to students who dropped out of 10th and 12th classes because it allows them to complete their education in the same year. BOSSE is envisioned as a pioneer in teaching and learning in the digital age, assisting students in gaining the information and skills they need for life and work in the 21st century.

BOSSE is the greatest platform for pupils who, for whatever reason, are unable to attend traditional schools to have access to the same educational opportunities as their peers. It delivers high-quality education to underprivileged, disadvantaged, and backward pupils for a nominal fee structure. Its mission is to provide quality higher education to students everywhere through innovative teaching and learning methods that are tailored to their requirements as well as national development priorities. The board of Open School Education also helps in the realization of the vocational and educational rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution 1950 under article 21A, i.e. Right to Education, as well as articles 14, 15, 19, 26, 29, 30, 351, and others. The board endorses the ideals of academic excellence, academic independence, humanism, social responsibility, and national service.

BOSSE’s Open School Education concepts give students the flexibility and freedom to learn at their own pace.
